I'm home...

"The Christian resolve to find the world evil and ugly, has made the world evil and ugly."~Friedrich Nietzsche

The funeral of a child is far too depressing to talk about.

Lora and I were made to feel VERY unwelcome and, because of this, Emily has vowed to never talk to her family again. Lora and I still have hopes that once she calms down things can still be worked out.

Hope.

I got home late last night and have barely slept so...

"As to Jesus of Nazareth, my Opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the System of Morals and his Religion...has received various corrupting Changes, and I have, with most of the present dissenters in England, some doubts as to his Divinity; tho' it is a question I do not dogmatize upon, having never studied it, and think it needless to busy myself with it now, when I expect soon an opportunity of knowing the Truth with less trouble."

Alabama hasn't got the best of reputations for tolerance and open-mindedness, lol, not too surprising that three hot young lesbians got a frosty reception. I'd be inclined not to push Emily to reconcile with her family too soon - let them stew a while, perhaps they will begin to show a bit more sense. Do Emily's family profess any strong religious tendencies?

Perhaps it's not a surprise that GW is such a bad president, with advisors like the Christian God, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove he's scarcely likely to be a good one. I've never been comfortable with Theocracy or Petrocracy as means of government.

It wasn't so bad for us at first. Emily's grandmother, Marzell, was very nice to us. The little boy was living with her (Not sure where his parents were.) and as hurt as she was she still treated us well.

When Emily's parents showed up was when we started getting treated bad. But Marzell was nice to us the entire time. She was in a lot of pain but never once did she make us feel unwelcome the way the rest of the family did.

Some "southern baptists" are better than others it seems.
