What Has Our Friend Agric Hadron Been Up To Lately?
I've mentioned that my dear friend Agric is doing some forest thing with tree people before. Well, here is a cool quote from an article in The Times...
***Agric turns out to be a softly spoken, silver-haired, gentle, elfin little fellow from Wales, via Slough. At his Berkshire home, which he plans to sell and become a nomad, he is self-sufficient in vegetables: his knowledge of how to achieve this, in addition to his certainty that our society is on its last legs, he communicates civilly, quietly and politely.
He does have a tendency to be patronising: the only time I saw the wind removed from his sails was when he was holding forth expansively to a visiting farmer's wife on the 30 varieties of potato that he plans to cultivate at Utopia, and his methods for persuading them to sprout. "Is that right?" she said, raising an eyebrow. "We just buy a bag of organic spuds from Tesco and plant them."***
Agric is part of the Utopia Experiment, which the reported from The Times describes as, "...a post-apocalyptic survivalist community aiming to replicate a future world in which our technology-based infrastructure has collapsed."
